Jonathan Deitrick, BSN, RN, MBA

Nursing Director

Jonathan joined the Clinic for Special Children in 2026 as Nursing Director. In this role, he oversees nursing programs, including clinical support for outpatient, outreach, and subspecialty encounters, as well as patient advocacy and home-based palliative care. He also works with the Clinic’s Medical Director and Practice Manager to ensure patients receive safe, high-quality, evidence-based care.

Before joining the Clinic, Jonathan worked as a Registered Nurse in pediatric and emergency nursing in both school health and acute care settings. He has led multidisciplinary teams, improved clinical operations, mentored staff, and coordinated high-quality patient care in fast-paced environments.

In his free time, Jonathan enjoys traveling with his family, hiking, working out, and watching sports. He is a self-proclaimed huge Philadelphia sports fan!

Why are you passionate about the Clinic?

What draws me most to the Clinic is its extraordinary mission and the meaningful impact it has on the individuals and families it serves. It is inspiring to see an organization that not only provides world-class care for people with rare genetic conditions but also works to eliminate barriers by ensuring that care remains accessible. The combination of compassionate, patient-centered care, groundbreaking research, and strong partnerships with the Amish and Mennonite communities makes the Clinic truly unique.

Equally impressive is the Clinic’s culture, where every team member is united by a shared commitment to improving the lives of patients and their families. That sense of purpose, collaboration, and dedication to excellence is what makes the Clinic such a special organization, and it is exactly the kind of mission-driven environment I am excited to be a part of.
