This bimonthly\, virtual learning series will occur every other month on the first Friday from noon – 1 p.m. The talk series is organized by a collaboration of WellSpan Health\, the Clinic for Special Children\, and Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. \nThe ABCs of the PIP—Using the Plain Insight Panel for screening and diagnosis \nClinicians who serve many people from the Plain Community will benefit from attending the Plain Community Education Collaboration’s next two educational zoom sessions on Friday May 6th and Friday July 8th.  These two sessions will discuss the utility of the Plain Insight Panel (PIP) which measures the presence of more than 1300 alleles for both autosomal dominant and recessive genes that have an increased prevalence in both the Amish and Old Order Mennonite population. \nThe first session—May 6\, is presented by Amy Albright\, genetic counselor at the Clinic for Special Children. DESCRIPTION:A Christmas Classic Train Benefiting the Clinic!\n\nAll aboard for Strasburg Rail Road’s Night Before Christmas Train! Passengers aboard this train enjoy the childlike anticipation of Christmas Eve\, recall the old-fashioned nostalgia of Christmas past\, and delight in the magic of an authentic steam train during the holidays. \nReturning again this year\, the popular Night Before Christmas Train runs on select evenings throughout the holiday season.  A portion of all proceeds collected from the sale of Night Before Christmas Train tickets is donated annually to the Clinic for Special Children. \n \nThis very unique and special train recreates the excitement and anticipation of Christmas Eve. A reader dressed in a nightshirt and cap will welcome you aboard your railcar and then read Clement C. Moore’s classic poem\, The Night Before Christmas\, as the train rolls along. After the reading of the poem\, passengers can enjoy a treat of milk and cookies before returning to the train station. In the spirit of the season\, children and their families are encouraged to come dressed in pajamas. \nParents\, please note: While Santa Claus does make a brief appearance aboard this train in keeping with the classic story\, this experience captures the wonder and anticipation of Christmas but does NOT feature Santa. If you’re looking for a train ride during which Santa visits with each family and pauses for a photo\, please consider our Santa’s Paradise Express. \nFollowing the train ride\, children are also treated to storybook readings of holiday classics in our North Pole alcove near the Railroad Store. Additionally\, visitors of all ages can enjoy a ride aboard the Candy Cane Trolley\, a self-propelled motor car. \n\nWant to combine a meal with The Night Before Christmas Train?
